About
Hi I'm Shanna Shrum, Licensed Professional Counselor and founder of Everyone's Healing. Several years ago I was uninsured and struggling with my mental health. Luckily, I was able to access sliding scale therapy services. I do not exaggerate when I say that being able to access affordable mental health care changed my life. So much so that I was able to pursue my master's degree in counseling and support others the way I had been.
One of the first things they tell you in grad school is that you shouldn't expect to make much money as a therapist. It's no secret that there are not enough clinicians to meet the mental health crisis our country faces. So how can under resourced and overworked clinicians provide safe and effective care for others who are hurting? Honestly? I don't think they can.
That's why Everyone's Healing does not ask therapists providing services to lower their rates, instead Everyone's Healing strives to provide free and reduced cost mental health services AND compensate every clinician a fair session rate. That way, Everyone's Healing.
